It is funny how I got the chance to encounter both The Honourable Daphne Guinness and the late Mrs. Isabella Blow on two different occasions.
I remember meeting Mrs. Blow at the 1st Olivier Theyskens' Rochas show at Palais de Chaillot in Paris while working for the brand.
When she arrived for the show, she introduced herself to me saying "How do you? I'm Isabella Blow. Blow as in blow job."
She was one the most charming lady I've had ever encountered before meeting The Honourable Daphne Guinness.
I've had the chance to meet her while working at Helmut Lang in Paris in early 2004. She had been to the Alexander McQueen show the night before and was in a rush to get back to the Eurostar but, as she told me, she "had to come by the shop to see how it was and, besides, (I am) in need of some Lang's frocks".
She only stayed for about 15 minutes but she was the sweetest woman and she was great fun to be around.
I know that I would very much like to meet her again and, maybe, get the chance to talk with her a little bit more.
If such a thing never happens, I can only consider myself lucky enough to have met two of the world's best style icon whom ever lived.
Thank you for your blog. It's one of the best around.
